As you move to the interior, you will immediately notice the influences of
JP Concepts and Garroni Designs that are now familiar across the brand.
Everything is on a single level as you cross from the threshold and into the
galley. The salon is up a single step that divides the galley from this
forward area. Visibility is outstanding as is the amount of natural light.
The lower decks offer three staterooms and two heads. The Prestige 520 has the same three-cabin, two-head layout as the Prestige 500: a double bed cabin in the forward section, sharing the head with the port cabin, whose double berths are converted into a double cabin, and an master cabin with its own stairway in the stern.
With two 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS600 engines running at 3550 rpm, the Prestige 520 can reach a top speed of 25 knots. Best cruise came in at 3000 rpm and 19 knots, with a range of 190 nautical miles. The Prestige 520 can reach a planing speed in 7 to 8 seconds and a cruising speed of 19 knots in approximately 10 seconds. Impressive result for a 15 ton yacht.
Prestige and Volvo Penta worked closely together to achieve the implementation of the IPS system that allow precision handling of the boat. Volvo developed the IPS system to make boating easy. It has transformed docking and close-quarter manoeuvring into a simple process. Instead of performing complicated shift, throttle and steering wheel combinations, drivers can just move the joystick in the desired direction and the boat will respond accordingly. You can move sideways, rotate on the same spot or whatever you need to manoeuvre.
The wide forward beam and hull proportions of Prestige 520 guarantees great stability and a comfortable motion at sea, as well as a steadiness at anchor. Also, hull design with its forward volume actually forces the spray off to the sides, so you will stay dry even when riding on big waves. The Prestige 520 is a remarkably steady boat and rock solid stable.
The flying bridge is accessed from stairs to the port side of the cockpit and start from an elevated platform of the cockpit deck. The main gathering is at the flybridge starboard quarter where is located solid wood table with seating that wraps around. To the port side is an outdoor galley that features a heavy-duty hatch over a standard stainless steel sink and an electric grill. The helm is also port-side mounted with a sun pad wrapping around the helm console.
The swimming platform is equipped with a hydraulic lifting mechanism so that it can be used not only as a small private sundeck, but it can also be used to launch a tender with its 300 kg lift capacity. When swim platform is lowered, stairs that are flush when folded are automatically extended on the starboard side. This allows a smooth and effortless crossing back to the cockpit deck, even when the platform is in the lowered position.
The bow of the Prestige 520 is one of the most popular places for relaxing. A large sunpad has an adjustable backrest so that it converts from lying flat to a raised chaise-style lounge. Additional adjustments are under the knees, allowing for an even more relaxing position. The pop-up Bimini adds to the comfort level protecting you from the sun, while you are relaxing on this forward viewing area.
